The Prince George's County Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency in the County. The goals of the Department are to contribute to a high quality of life by maintaining a peaceful and orderly community, by protecting the lives and property of our citizens, by reducing the opportunity for individuals to commit criminal acts, and by effectively investigating and apprehending persons suspected of committing criminal acts. The Department is committed to accomplishing these goals by working alongside the citizens of our community.

The WIP is a six-month program of personal and professional development that brings outstanding university students from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to Washington, D.C. for summer internships and leadership training.  The program begins and ends with practical service in Northern Ireland and Ireland.
